EFI swap?

EFI swap?
Hello,
Working on swapping a 22RE in the place of a 22R in my sons 1986 truck. I took the wiring harness and the motor from an 1988 4runner. For the most part the swap has went pretty smooth I just swapped the whole harness from the Runner to the truck but as I get into the last wires I can's seem to find the correct place to plug in the 02 sensor. There is a wire in the harness that's shielded and it looks like the end has been ripped off. I'm wondering if this is where the sensor hooks in. Can someone with a gen one 22RE take a peek for me. Most of the information that I can find talks about a 4 wire O2 sensor and this only has one so I assume they must have changed it later.
Thanks!
Dean

The 88 4runner has the sensor connected into the exhaust pipe by the catalytic converter/transfer case area. The wiring comes thru the floor board under the drivers seat area. It will require the 4 wire sensor.
The 86 would of had the O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold. The 86 would be a single wire sensor.
I just went thru a 22re swap to to a 22r swap. The fuse box under the hood looks the same, but they are wired differently. It might be tempting to just use the box from the 86, but go ahead and swap it out. It looks like it only hooks up the headlights and over to the drivers side area, but they are different.
Also a trucks wires all go thru the cab and along the frame for the fuel pump, fuel guage, and tail lights. A 4Runners tail lights run inside the rear passenger area, so you are gong to need to do some splicing to match the tail lights up to the trucks. I am currently doing the same. Using a 4Runner harness on a pickup.

Ok, The runner I got the engine from must have been an earlier unit because it's got a one wire sensor and only one O2 sensor because I looked a the exhaust system and its doesn't have and other sensors or ports to install them. Any idea where the one wire O2 sensor plugged into the harness?
Good call on the fuse box under the hood! I used the one out of the pickup because they looked the same and the one out of the runner was messed up from the crash. I'll check that out and see if I can fix or rewire to get it to work. What doesn't function if you use the carb fuse box?
Thanks Again!

Never mind, I think I found it on your build thread! Looks to me like it's right here:

Thanks fishguy77
Dingo151... The one difference that I do know of is the white wire coming from the alternator.( which helps explain why the blower speeds up when going from idle to higher speeds). If you look at a diagram, it somehow connects to the blower motor. The one difference that I know is that your blower motor to the heater wont work. You would think that they would be the same. If I recall right, the 22r has a tab sticking up thur the fuse box and the 22re does not have it. It could be vise versa.
With the plug coming from the head lights, unplug it from the fuse box and you will see some male brass connectors sticking up. Seems like there are 7 on one and 6 on the other. You will see the diffence. Looking at it from the side of the truck, it should be the bottom right one that is one difference that I know of.
If you have the single wire O2 sensor, you have an 87 or older harness. Here is a way to tell which wire harness you have by the CEL Test Port. Also is the jumpers you need to set your timing. I will be gone til Friday, I will see if I can get apicture of the difference of the fuse box that I know of when I get back.

How to get Check Engine Codes. I just put this up for others. Applies to 87 and up. 86 and older is the bottom picture.
The Diagnostic port for the 85-86 is on the Drivers side inner fender and is nothing the same as the 87 and up. Here is T1 and E1 jumped. The codes and engine flashes are the same as the rest of the trucks on the dash.
