Did the e fan swap! having issues now
94 4rnr 3slow runnin 33s with 4;88 Ok i just got done doing the nissan quest fan swap. this fan has hi/lo speed, the fan controller i used, is a torgflo controller 30 amp relay p/n 733647. it is a close fit, wiring was pretty easy, i even ran an indicator light in the cab so i know if the fan isnt spinnin
Now! i have a set of mech guages in the cab (didnt like the stock temp gauge) I set the controller so when the temp gauge reads about 190 the fan kicks on. at and idle/stop light it operates beautifully runs much cooler, but when i start to drive it rises ( yes i do know it will rise under load) its rises and slowly keeps on going, it hits the 220 deg indicator dots on the gauge and im back in the drive way.
1st time letting it cool down gauge read about 170, pull rad cap, fire her up and can see antifreeze flowing. hmm thermostat should be closed at that temp. right? so i do the burping, turn front and rear heater on full blast , few burps added a bit more red toy antifreeze. for 20 mins she ran at 195 with ac on, rad cap off, antifreeze never stopped flowing. put the cap back on drove it 3 miles! temp is back up.
grrrrrrrrr
any ideas ?
im thinking thermostat is stuck open!
its in the drive way getting all the way cold so i can pull cap and see if the antifreeze is still flowing at temps i know the tstat should be close
dealership has tstat for 38.46! at that price is oem that much better than outozone 5.99 tstat?

it used to warm up at a stop light and cool off while driving, but if i had too i could turn the heat on and cool it off a bit if i needed too, yes full shroud good seal on edges it also has been 110 out the past few days

air flow blocked
My initial thought is that the air flow is blocked by the fan and fan shroud. I removed my fan shroud when I did a e-fan mod. The fan does not even come on when I am cruising down the highway. The air flow is enough to cool the radiator at 60 .
