Do I have this correct you bought a used head someone left at a machine shop??

That both they and you have no idea what year or vehicle it might be from.

Explain just what you mean about the Dip stick tube being to short as it goes in the block not the head.

2 and 4 wheel drives have different dip sticks Celica`s also were different.

Not that the heads are much different but the tubes and dip sticks sure are.

it was a new head and i didn't get around to putting it one for 3 or 4 months life caught up with me ,got married etc.. yes the dip stick tube goes into the block but when i took the old one off the top end was bolted to the cylinder head the tube is not pressed into the block it just sits in there and is bolted to the head what is the differance between the 22r 4x4 heads and the 4x2 heads?

It is not the heads but the oil pans are different between 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive.

There is the old and new style heads one can tell be the exhaust ports.

Just by how much is it off.

Can it be bent to fit and still work??

Is this a Toyota head if after market perhaps a hole was not tapped.

Do you still have your old head to compare.

it is off by about one inch i don't know if it is aftermarket or not but the tube is too short they kept the old head as it was cracked, and there is no hole to tap the bracket misses the whole by about half of a hole.
