Craigslist find - Calgary
Not mine, in no way affiliated. Might be of interest to a couple people here, though.

Price seems on par for what you are getting.
Americans forget that the prices here are quite a bit different than there.
I fully expect when I sell my 4Runner I will get 8-9k for it. In the states I'd be lucky to get 5k.

My truck sells for about the same price as some of the same or similar year Lexus high end cars that were 2-4 times what my truck cost new.
Something about these trucks and their durability, reliability mixed with living in a Province where there is lots of off the beaten path camping, fishing & hunting spots plus inclement weather in the winter that seems to drive the price up. I feel confident that I could probably get at least $9000 for my truck and that's with almost 200,000 miles.

Well IF I ever considered selling it, I would have around $11,000 as the price tag. You're not going to find a tougher stock Toyota Truck than what we have in the North American market unless you import or build up in a big way.

anyways .. that is a sweet truck and looks to be worth what he is asking if not more. I dont think there is a good condition running turbo truck like that left alive here in ontario

Selling my rig to get a domestic? That's equivilent to selling my soul. I come from a Toyota family - almost born and raised on Toyota's. Only ever owned Toyota vehicles myself and always will (except for my Domestic company van but it's not my van, it's my companies).
It's hard for me to look at other Toyota trucks. The only reason I do ponder other Toyota trucks (mainly 1st generation access cab Tundra's with the 4.7 liter i-Force V8) is for more towing power if I plan on buying a big boat or something like that one day. Otherwise what I have gets the job done, I like the body style, and I'm not moving lots of people with it so it's good to go.
My brother found a guy selling an 87 Turbo a year or so ago, although it was rusted out and he didn't buy it. Definately rare....

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, like if i should just sell the truck and just lease a new toyota truck or finance one but i dont see the individuality or personality that my truck has on the new ones. They just all look so similar and plasticy. I get looks all the time from people, and thumbs up and compliments on my truck its crazy and i doubt id get the same with a new truck thats so much more common.
Also, the parts are probably a lot cheaper for my truck and I'm pretty sure repairs would be to compared to a newer taco or 4runner.
