converting 87 2wd to 5VZFE, questions
hi, i have a 87 2wd standard cab short box truck that came with a carbureted 22r, i have since done the 3VZE conversion about 4 years ago, i have 50,000 miles on the conversion and it runs great. however i want more power of course so i just purchased a 5VZFE today with 90k on it and will have a TRD pupercharger installed with it. i was wondering how much more wiring is involved with this swap? i have the complete wiring harnes for the engine including the computer. what else will i need? i heard the starters and fly wheels are different on the 3.4 vs 3.0 is that true? also if anyone has done a conversion like this i would like to hear from you. i would like to have it done by spring, thanks in advance

i know i can pull it off if i get the right info. everyone told me my first conversion would never work (carbureted 22r to 3vze) i think all of the hard work is done. the tranny from the 3vz will bolt to the 5vz. it was a LOT of work to get that 3VZ in there. i had to swap gas tanks, run new fuel line, lengthen driveline 3/4 inch, new tranny mount, new front crossmember, fabricate ne motor mounts, not to meantion the PITA it was to get it wired up to my truck. i know none of the wiring will be the same since this is OBD2.
