Changing the CPU with others , does it have to have same part# on it

I think I migh have to change computer on my 94 Yota. Ive looked on Ebay and bone yards for another with the same part# and dont find one. On Ebay some people would say if its from this year to this year and has the same motor , it should work on mine. Does the part# cross over like that? I would think it should if the everything is the same.

Does anyone have some info on this.

Very unlikely unless you've got a 1988.5 or newer toyota. They changed the number of pins on the ECU mid way through 1988.

This is the info that you need:

i cant remember when it was made. all i know is that the pins line right up. its not the same ECU that was in it when it left the factory.
