That's how you de-amber the Jeep Grand Cherokee headlights - not the painting, but the separating. The amber on the 2nd Gens is molded in, so painting the reverse won't work.

Most headlights once unsealed will let moisture back in. That's why you see all those civics with condensation in their lights. If you can do it right then the result is good. That mod is possible on a 3rd gen or you can use a screw drive to shatter the inner amber lens through the bulb hole.

I thought 2nd gen clear tails were easy to come by?

I painted my headlights on my Civic about 6-8 months ago and no condensation at all. I'm one of the few that have done it right!

I live in Canada, and I see some of the craziest ˟˟˟˟ when it comes to lighting around here. Saw an Altima with clear tailights about 2-3 years ago with green bulbs for the brakes and blue for the turning signals, I still see it around to this day. If it doesn't get much worse than that, then I don't know what is....

Here they are this morning lit up

My truck is well taken care of!

The weather was above freezing yesterday, then it dropped to -20 today. So I got the mud, then everything froze and got covered in snow. Made for a nice photo.

Those look really red - I thought they'd look funky, but they look OK.

Get a decent spare wheel would ya? Looks out of place on a such a nice rig...

It looks better than silver At least I had the decency to paint it until I get a matching one.

It's in the works, no worries.

The tails look great though, I'm very pleased.

You are correct Jason but he was referring specifically to it being illegal to have them be red like Scofco was doing to his truck.

The reason you are not supposed to have red up front is the same reason reverse lights are white. So that when you see red ahead of you on the road, you know that vehicle is going the same direction as you and when you see white you know it's coming towards you (opposite direction). Red up front is confusing, especially blinking red, people might mistake you for an emergency vehicle or something.

I may have to ditch the black taillights and go with the candy red ones. Thanks for the good ideas guys!

Ahh, ok. I've never seen them red before. I wonder how that would look.
