I tried the drill trick. Taped a nickel to one side and it threw it across the room. Put in a few oz of water and is would spin 1350 rpm no problem.

I will be getting dynabeads

Alot of people have had great results--They should be here by next week and i will get them installed next weekend--then go for a drive--we will see how it turns out.

In other news--Dropped my truck off to get it re-aligned--the shop that aligned it originally did not do it right.

New shop guy (Sets up race cars and such) said the rear end wasnt centered and castor, camber, and toe were all off.

I have adjustable upper and lower links and the other shop said they got the set-up spot on and "Didnt have to mess with the rear-end". Lying #$%#

So, i think that had something to do with it also.....

Alignment helped a lot--it drives much better--Keep you posted on the Dyna beads

And on another note--I am not running any weights--Toyos seem to be a pretty good tire...

beads...bb's

seems to me the beads or bbs would bounce when they get to the part of the tire that is in contact with the road and accelerate any type of wear inside the tire...just a thought

I've heard these work better in larger tires 35" and up any truth to this?

Comes down to Newtons law of inertia

in short: An object will stay in motion until acted upon by equal or unbalnced forces....

I.e. is the acceleration of the tire becoming "unround" where it meets the ground is not greater than the force holding the beads to the tire--then the beads will not bounce...

OK--got the beads and they smoothed out the ride. I am not going to say it is like riding in a rolls--but it does feel better than when i had the weights on there.

I give it two thumbs up

I have them in my tires and I give them 2 thumbs up. I tried having my tires balanced multiple time with no luck. Once one issue was solved another would show up. Now that I have the Dyna Beads the ride is excellent and I have no complaints.

Edit: I am using Dyna Beads.

I'm all about just paying the fifty bucks or whatever it is to have the balancing done by somebody who does it every day for a living.

And wasting that $50 when you air down and having the tire spin on the rim, messing up the balance. Plus, knocking weights off of the wheels while wheeling sucks.

I'm thinking about doing this with my 33's. I have a few chunks out of them from the last run I was on before the little water incident. I think it would really help out in the long run.

Wait, what? Why... no... HOW did they mess up the rear alignment? I was under the impression that if the rear wheels are out of alignment, something much, much worse, has happened since you can't actually adjust anything on the rear if it's not an IRS. How do you adjust caster on a wheel that doesn't have caster to begin with, let alone doesn't steer. How do you adjust the chamber and toe? Shims between the wheel and hub? What?

I can see your point there, I just never air down to go 4wheeling. The stuff I go through is nothing compared to some of the pictures I've seen your rig in though

Big fan of your buildup btw

Well my friend--my rig has a true triangulated 4 link rear suspension with upper and lower adjustable links. (9" drop and 4" up=13" travel in total) it can be centered (not camber and not toe), adjust pinion angle and little left/right if need be--you get the picture

Caster and Toe--I was referring to the front

Airing down (even down to 15-18psi) will make your off-road ride sooooo much smoother. I'd recommend trying it when you get a chance & have a way to air back up. You'll also gain some traction having the tires aired down below street pressure.

Thanks about the buildup

Read the whole thread there not using airsoft bb's. There is a link to a site that sells speacal made glass balls and they work great. And as for spending $50, those guys might do it all day on small car tires but they can't get our big tires balanced if there life depended on it.

I am lucky I have a motorcycle shop within an hour of me that sells them for the price the website offers them (http://www.innovativebalancing.com/motorcycle.htm). The drive doesn't bother me due to it being a direction I travel frequently. He puts them in all of his bikes for his customers and he has never had a complaint. I decided to try them for myself and I am now very happy with the ride of my truck.
