adjusting steering

Trying to do an alignment. My tie rod ends seem to be seized to the adjusting sleeve. Any tricks to this? There's some sort of proper tool to do this, but are there any garage tricks that might help? Damn, I've got three sets of tie rod assembly and they are all no good.

Well soaking them with penetrating oil and some good long handled channel locks seem to be the tools of choice here in idaho.

Ya, it was hopeless... I managed to find salvage some pieces out of my spares. A pain as all three sets were rusted good.

Proper tie rod remover was worth 10X the $15 it cost me... The kind that is solid and has a bolt that pushes the tie rod end out (http://www.samstagsales.com/SirTool/st266h.jpg). The pickle hammer(?) didn't work and I ruined the puller style tie rod remover right away w/out managing to pop the tie rod end.
