A340H modification for 3.4 SWAP
I know Team ShiftPoint has done these. Does anyone know of the EXACT details that go into modifying the A340H tranny that comes with the 3.0? I believe that I can do this to my tranny myself, but just would like to know what it involves.
ie. Modifying speed sensor, valve body, solenoids, torque converter lockup rate
I will be keeping 4x4, and getting the engine sans tranny will be much cheaper. Anyone with this sacred knowledge out there?

might be better off getting the tranny too.
just in case you wanna stick a dual crawler case... you're halfway there...
check out the case where a 340F was stuck behind a 3.0 so a dual t-case could be installed:

i know mine works well...

I'm not really interested in a crawler. Maybe someday later. I want more power, for the 90% freeway driving, better gas milage, a bit more speed. My rig is gonna be more of a Baja rig, not a rock crawler.
Modifying my current tranny, (by a nice rebuild of it) seems to be much less complicated and cost effective than haveing to purchase an adapter, which still may leak and a crawler.
