97 Taco tranny on a 3.0?

Hey guys,

Just bought a Dana 44 front, 9.25" rear set of axles from a 97 Dodge Ram 1500, and noticed the dana 44 front has driver's side differential and I can't use it with the R150 transmission I have in my truck.

I bought a 97 toyota tacoma transmission with driver's side drop for the drive shaft...would that bolt up to the bellhousing in my 3.0? I don't want to get rid of these axles...and I already have the transmission.

Thanks!

Sorry if it's a noob question!

You mean you have the R150F trans, the R150 is a 2wd truck trans.

A 97' Tacoma trans is an R150F the same exact trans that you already have although the transfer case is a drivers drop on the Tacomas.

This may help;

Not exactly the same. The way the starter bolts in is different, the clutch slave/etc. is on the driver side.
