86' 22RE randomly runs on 3 cylinders. HELP
So I had just finished installing an electric fan on my 86' 4Runner, got it all wired up so it's running good. Drove my truck around on a couple of errands and it was fine. Then I took it maybe 20 miles along the coast, stopped it, ate breakfast, started her back up and now she's got a rough idle, shaking horribly, and no power. I limp back home, check the plugs, all plugs are sparking. I did a comp. test and all cylinders are are within 5 psi of spec.
-When I installed the electric fan I had removed the intake tubing from the airbox to the throttle body and mistakenly tried to start the car...would that have any sort of effect of my engine?
oh, 1 more thing...now my speed sensor is off too, its showing im turning 3000rpm at 60mph in 5th...before this incident id be around 2200rpm...I have no clue what happened

If you had your intake tubing removed and tried to start your vehicle no air would be pulled through the AFM, so the ECU would not be getting the right information to start, but once you put it back on it seemed to find the right information, because you took it for a drive and things were fine.
I've had a 5mge run rough when one of the injector plugs somehow worked it's way loose. Did you check the connections on each injector?
Are you calling your Tachometer a speed sensor? It's an rpm sensor, but that's not the same as a speed sensor.
The 86 does have a speed sensor in the cluster, but it's not what you think it is. Your speedometer is run by a cable from the back of your transfercase. The Speed sensor in the speedometer sends a signal to the ECU telling it the speed of the vehicle.
Things started happening after you put in an electric fan....How did you wire it in, where did you make your connections?

Yeah, I don't know why I called it a speed sensor. But yeah my tachs off and now my speedo will occasionally not work either...
I gave up trying to figure things out myself and took her to a mechanic, who hopefully won't try to bend me over for some cash that I don't have.
This whole situation is one big clusterf*&!
