5 Speed Conversion O/D Light Problem

Well I just got a new motor in my truck and swapped in a manual tranny while it was out. My problem is when I drive the O/D light flashes. I know I can pull the dash apart and cut the bulb wires, but I would rather do it an easier way if at all possible.

Just remove the bulb or get an instrument cluster from a manual transmission truck.

I don't want to pull the dash apart unless it is the only way.

Does anyone else have an idea?

Not sure if the '94 wiring is the same as the '91 (should be) but your other option from my FSM would be to cut the yellow wire with the green stripe at the TCCS ECU (pin 16 in connector IH1)

IMO I would rather spend 30 minutes taking a bulb out of the instrument cluster though. There is someone on YT with a link to a FSM to show you what wire to cut though. I'll see if I can find the link...

Page AT-129, connector shown on right, pin is OD2. You can check the voltage on this pin while the light is flashing to make sure it is the one.

Lightbulb

Reminder, if it's flashing at all times, then do the wire mod. If it's flashing around 38oo rpm, that's the light acting as a rev limiter, or best mileage indicator.

Some years had this both stateside and abroad.
