4RUNNER rough start up.. Grinding noise, Bog down, hesitation, freeway deceleration
These are the symptoms of my engine performance
1994 4runner 3.0L v6 Auto Transmission.190K.
K&N intake, throttle body cleaned, tune up done, Fuel Filter changed, Heads timing belt water pump replaced at 60K.
I Start it up. it rattles from behind the engine near the firewall.
After a couple minutes, it quits making the grind/rattle sound and sounds mellow.
Driving. BEGINS to run semi-decent. I hop on the freeway, the slightest incline makes the engine Bog down, it shifts down and the rpm's fly up to 4500, forcing me to push the gas pedal to the floor because it decelerates, it doesn't even speed up. It is loud and it sounds like the engine is grinding. It moves from 55 MPH to 45 MPH and will not accelerate whatsoever even after I return to a flat surface on the freeway. I remain floored until suddenly, spurts of increments of power return, then fade, return, then fade. Over when the gas pedal is pushed to the floor, the rpm's should run smoothly from 3000 to 6000, then shift; However, when I press the pedal to the floor, the rpm's move to 3500 rpms as if in overdrive, and barely make it up to 4000 rpm's after flooring it for a minute. It is more slow than a normal 3.0L V6.
A vacuum hose is unplugged behind the engine as well, near the firewall. Unplugged from the T V V as it reads on the diagram under the hood. What is the T V V and what does it do? Could it be the problem?
What could this be? Fuel pressure regulator? Injectors clogged? Tranny slipping? Vacuum leak? O2 sensor? Timing?
Also Precision Tune installed plug wires and whenever I touch the rubber while the engine is running, I get shocked.
