What gauge are you using? The stock one from a 2nd gen?

914runner...any luck with your stuff?

you should be using the 3.0 sender for the oil gauge.

TSP- any issues with the 95 3.4? I have gotten a complete front half cut with only 40 000 miles on it. I had heard they had head gasket problems also, so I wanted to change them out before installing if needed. Luckily the truck comes with everything in the engine bay needed for the swap icluding the hard to find harnesses.

Has anyone in swapping in the 3.4L also converted their truck from auto to manual? Looking at the price difference in the conversion kits and always having wanted a manual, it seems like that might cut cost down. Any thoughts? Also is there any other conversion kit besides ORS's? Thanks

if you have 4wd, you can swap to manual but you can use the 3.0 manual tranny so that the Tcase will bolt up with no problems.

if you have 2wd, you can either swap to the 3.4 auto or the 3.4 manual tranny.

BTW, if any houston area ppl want to see the 3 swapped trucks, we're headed to the meet over at Tejas Toyota with Tundra Solutions on Dec 11th

Nope, no luck yet. I havent had time to work on it lately. I did however swap in the 3.0L sender and a new gauge about a month ago and I think when I started it up it fried the new gauge! Any idears?
Thanks

Sounds like a wiring problem. If it fried the gauge then someone hooked up the wrong wire, prolly giving the oil gauge directly 12v or something.

Ya, Im going to go through the oil pressure sender wiring when I wire up my tach. How is the oil pressure sender sussposed to be wiried up? Directly from the sender to the gauge?
Thanks

Yes you will need to directly wire up the oil pressure sending unit to the gauge. Lemme know if it works;

Holy Cow. What would you charge if I had a sourced engine? I'm currently getting another rebuild put in right now, but depending on your price I may start stocking up on parts to have this done.

Thanks!!

Hey TSP, I'm working on a Auto swap too. Mind if I contact you, even if 6 years later, to ask some questions?
