I recommend everyone doing this though. but be sure to angle your headlights down ( I haven't and I get flashed constantly and people getting pissy with me, like the other night i had a guy slow down to like 40 miles per hour on I - 80, get behind me and turn his high beams on... lmao hella immature, but whatever )
Cool thanks. I have 8000K in my big truck and always get flashed so I just flash them my high's. This projector kit I'm wantin to get only offers 5100K 9004 bulbs but I think I want something hotter.

Looks good Mak. Did your kit include a relay or are you currently running off the trucks electronics? My cheapo kits have not included relay. Read horror stories lately about running without and will be routing my lights to the battery tonight.

The hi/low kit I had is uninstalled and replaced with the single bulb 12k Xentec setup. Anyone thinking of getting the hi/low with the high beam as halogen; think again. My halogen high beam has already burnt out on 1 set of bulbs. I do have a warranty, however after I get the replacement I’ll be selling the bulbs.

I do not have a high/low kit.. I turn the lights on and thats what I get. there are no high beams or low beams... its just lights now. mine is strictly plug and play. basically you pull your fixture out, pull out the bulb, plug in the wiring harness, plug in the ballast, plug in the bulb and you're good to go.

Thanks for the update 1991(A). Do you also sport a "side-spike" as I did in 1991? Why not update with the times and gain more useable light while driving at night? With as many pot holes as we have here in MN through the winter months, it pays to have better vision than a bigger pocket book for repairs. People who look down on this are certainly left in the dark with their ignorance; lacking visibility, replacing bulbs more often, less reaction time, hitting more, deer, humans, pot holes, etcetera.

well what about the DDM 9004 High/Low kit??? 6000K 55w...should be pretty nice..

i know the real part are the housings, crappy housings=crappy pattern.

well if anybody has tried them..post up!!!

or if anybody knows of a person that has done the grille swap from the crappy '92-'95 4runner frontend to the older '90-'91 4runner front end..or a pickup front end...i'd rather get some H4 housings but can't get em for my '92

The latest (best so far) kit installed is a 55w 6000k 9004 (low only). The beam cuts at 75 feet in the stock housings.

Camo 31 – You may get better results swapping to H4 however that is a lot of work. You could always upgrade to 9007 bulbs by filing the tabs on your current housings to accept the 9007 bulbs which intern will give you better light displacement. Let me know what you come up with.

just stay with a 9004 bulb. whats the point? upgrading to an H4 would just piss people off more if its a better result lol

That's funny because I get that too in the bay area... I just slow down, pull behind them and give em a quick flash with my off-road roof rack HID's. They are unbelievably bright.

while we are on the topic it seems my right front headlight is having electrical problems, just put new bulbs in tested the plug and everything but the bulb seems to light up very dimly and the other works fine??
