I posted on this same topic when harleyman posed the question. I haven't ran the 268* just didn't seem like the powerband was where I wanted it. I've heard of a lot of guys say Ted told me....

All I know is I've run his 261* on stock valves and Delta cam 260* on OS valves. The powerband is right where I need it for wheeling and DDing. I'm on 33" w/ 4:88's and move down the interstate @ 65-70mph my RPM's are just below 3,000 why choose a cam that doesn't powerband till I'm over my highest cruise speed?

The Delta cam I'm running now has a powerband to about 4,500 and starts at 1,2-1,500. How do you guys drive? Call around to the different engine builders. Tim @ DOA talked to me for almost an hour, a local machine shop that the local amatuer competion guys swear by spend over and hour on the phone with me. These guys love to talk about engines. As great as YT is don't get so narrow minded that its your only source of information.

EB is a rad shop, and i`ll give my 268 cam a few thousand miles before I decide if I should try the 261. *LoL*

I think my motor is built to more of a mid-range motor though, with header & 2.25 exhaust, I should have done a heavier flywheel by a couple of pounds & had a 2" exhaust for more low-end... I think I am keeping some torque at low end with the factory airbox.

All of this confirmed with my calibrated butt-dyno, of course...

Call Ted @ Enginebuilder and discuss your problem and the possibility of advancing the 268 with an adjustable cam gear for about $100.

Lopey cams are bad for DD the street unless you plan to race and not hill climb.
