Supra engine swap

Just ran into a friend that told me he had a wrecked 89 supra. I have been looking at the engine swap threads and it doesnt look to bad. Any thoughts would be great. I could probably get the whole car for around 500.

that'd give you everything you need, except the 5MGE engine mount brackets.

is the Supra a manual trans? if not, you'll also need a bellhousing (assuming you have a 22re with a "W" series manual trans)

here's what I can add -> CLICK ME <- one thing i didn't get pics of was modifying the oil pump pickup to fit the Cressida oil pan (which you need if you have IFS)

I like the torque and snappiness of the 7MGE . . .

I was just over there talking to him, it is a standard, but he bought the car for the trans, but of course like all of us the projects get bought and never finished. The car has not been ran for about 2 years though. The other car needs a trans I an going to try to make him a deal.I put the trans in the other car for the parts car.

that sounds like a decent deal, just make sure you snag that bellhousing and clutch fork . . .
