New weber, engine won't turn over
I have an 84 pickup and just got a 32/36 weber to replace the stock carb. I got the conversion plate and installed that just fine, then put the weber on. I went to start the motor and it won't turn over. There is no noise at all but the lights on the dash turn on like regular except the charge light. This makes me think the problem is electrical. There is a group of wires that went to the old carb one for the electric choke and three others, one white and two black. I have hooked up the electric choke but don't know what the other wires are for. Any help?

make sure you didnt knock around your starter wires (the big one and the signal wire). they connect from the body to the motor right near where your choke wires connect. did you incidentally disconnect them there? check also at the battery that your main lead to the starter is connect there. it may have come loose if you disconnected the battery. if you have a multi-meter, start poking around and see if you've got juice to the starter solenoid/starter motor and from the ignition to the solenoid when you turn the key to the 'start' position. all of this will start narrowing things down. hope this helps.
