Red face

Thanks for all the kudos guys & gals!!! I am friggin DEAD TIRED, yet I wanted to get these up TONIGHT!

I know it looks stupid with those tires. I got to save up some $$$ to get those 33x12.50 15's. I will see what I can do within a month or so. I wasn't going to wait for the tires to do the lift. It's not THAT bad, those fiberglass fenders really make them look small though!

Time for a smoke, shower, bed.

Looks great John! Quite a bit of work in one weekend huh? I did that amount of work for 2.5 months to get my junk ready

I think you need to skip the 33's and go straight to 35's, they would fit and look much better than the 33's IMO.

Thanks Volcom - again, without your pictures from your thread our work wouldn't have been so smooth. I was hoping to get more pictures, however there were many times I needed to work and not play photographer.

I haven't gotten the gears or lockers yet. I have to work some extra OT to get that taken care of. I will see what I can find. I may do the 33's first yet I am not 100% if I will just go to the 35's. I really want em, I just don't know what the $$ will look like in the near future. I have a bonus coming up in July, if I can get geared before then I will jump to the 35's. For the time being I am going to be keeping an eye on Craigslist for some local 33's or 35's. I just don't want to choke my 22RE without the gearing.

How do ya like those fiberglass fenders Volcom?

I am out shopping for 5.29 gears. What manufacturer would be recommended? Yukon? Motive? Who else?

Which gear brand SHOULD NOT be purchased?

I haven't had it out to flex yet as I am letting the ubolts and springs settle in a bit. I have done little dirt mount poser stuff last night, nothing worth of a camera though! I will work to get that done for you guys. It's gonna look even more like a roller skate with articulation, 5" of lift and 31" tires!!

Get yukon gears and straight to 35s, well worth it. Looks goofy with the 31s, sell them and get the 35s on asap

Are 'Motive Gear' brand gears like? I have heard they are just as good as Yukon Gear. Hey Hayes, can you swing me a deal on some BFG 35" @ a Discount down here in Phoenix?

Thanks!

I dunno Slacker. I just can't seem to get over HOW MUCH ROOM there is on the front end. I think that perhaps I may have to run a 40" tire up front and a 35" in the rear just to compensate for the extra clearance.

j/k! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I will get er cleaned up and shoot some pictures when the 33" are on and will send them to you for your website (if you'd like!)

I do like those fenders, but like you said, if you had a pickup or could tub the rear you could run "FO Ds" with no lift

I am getting the trail gear gears, ive heard they use tons of different manufactures plus a lifetime warranty.

I'm going to go with Marlin for the complete 3rds. They offer an open front with 5.29 gears, and I don't have to send them my housing like I would with TG.

I prefer Precision or US Gear, you know what you are getting with those.

Stay away from Genuine. Yukon seems to be hit or miss...

Setup is just as important, if not more important. Contact ZUK @ gearinstalls.com. He is local and will get you setup right.

I *HIGHLY* suggest checking with Just Differentials - Toyota Section - I called and spoke to Carl. They have great prices and excellent customer service!! They are located in Washington State. I got a quote on the following:

2 - Motive Gear 5.29's for Toyota 8"
2 - LockRite Lockers (Picked just to gauge the cost of a package)
2 - Master Install Kits

The total price was $990. Shipping to AZ was $50. Your shipping may differ.

I will have to wait to make that purchase. I have to get the A/C fixed (MANDITORY IN AZ W/ HAVING KIDS) and the front drive shaft ($300 for 12" slip yoke and labor.) Last night I picked up a set of BFG MT's 33" for $500. They have 3k miles on them, have the little nipples on the sides (new indicators) and came with Free Replacement warranties.

Pictures will soon follow when they are mounted!!

John
