front seal headache
I have a 85 Toyota 4 runner with a recent rebuild (200 miles on it) I even bought a new timing cover/oil pump..ect. Everything runs great but I have a front seal leak. I have replaced it twice and I still have a leak! So I decided to got Toyota and get a new factory seal but after comparing the seal with a after market seal I noticed the Toyota seal was thinner?? Did I receive the wrong seal from Toyota or what? (just to be safe I ordered a new harmonic balancer to eliminate that variable too) any help would be much appreciated! sorry if the photos doesn't work.

The seals ride in a different place on the balencer. Iirc, toyota "updated" the seal, so that trucks with a leaky seal even after the new seal, could get the updated one to fix the leak.
