Front locker issue

I was out driving in the snow last night and in 4wd. Once I got out of the thick stuff and on clean pavement my truck would randomly pull to the right (mostly) and left. It was like something was binding up in the front and then letting go. It would actually jerk the truck in either direction. I never had that problem without the locker. I also notice that when I have the hubs locked in but not in 4wd it will have the same pull, only to the right, but not nearly as strong. This only happens on pavement, I'm guessing because I have more grip (mud and snow it isn't noticeable). Does anybody else notice anything similar with a locker in front?

This is on an 85 4runner with a lockright locker in front.

This isn't really a big issue since I don't generally run my truck in 4wd on pavement and when I'm offroad it isn't even noticeable but I would like to hear any of your thoughts of what might be going on. What could be binding and letting go?
