Post 22R Oil Pan leak

I just got done rebuilding the 22R in my 84 4Runner. After driving it for a bit to seat the rings, i noticed that it was leaking a bit of oil from between the pan itself and the welded on skid plate. I took the oil pan off and noticed that there was a bit of a crack by one of the tack welds on the bottom, probably from when we removed the pan (it took a lot of force). I MIG welded the crack, reinstalled the pan, and it still leaks! Ive done this 3 times now, and each time there is no improvement...I am guessing that there may be a hairline crack somewhere that isnt visible. Anyways, I am thinking of simply getting a new oil pan. Does anyone have any idea how much one of these might cost from either a junkyard or the dealership? Thanks

oil pan leaks

I too had the same problem with my 85" toyota pickup with a 22R, The pan
just got rusty and one time when I was tightening the drain plug after a routine oil change I heard a crack, didnt think much of it but the next morning
i realized what happened while cleaning up the oil from my garage floor.

I dont remember the name of the place,I will look around but I think they were in Arizona, I was able to buy the pan from an online salvage yard, The key is to buy from a southern state where the cars dont take the salt damage.

The install job was not bad either a little twisting and turning and a couple of
swear words but i didnt have to take the exhaust off or loosen motor mounts
for this job.
