Toyota Wolverine Featured 1978
Thought that some of you guys that are interested in the early 4x4 toyotas would like to see this. Up on ebay - a copy of the 1978 4 wheel & offroad magazine featuring the 1978 Toyota Wolverine. From what I have gathered, there has been a common misconception that the Wolverine was related to the Trekker andTrailblazer as a pre-4runner. However, it is actually the 1977 and 1978 4x4 converted pickups using Dana Spicer axles and tcases. This was actually done with several trucks at the time, including the Ford Courier (Sasquatch). Wonder why noone thought to clear this up before? It's actually very confusing if you try and read up on it on Wikepedia and other internet sources.

My stepdad had a Ford courier in 1982 or so that was one of those conversions when we lived in Alaska. It was a poorly done conversion in the Ford and the rear brakes did not function with a correct ratio to the fronts- sending my mother and my very young self into a roll on the way to their wedding when we hit a bit of ice on the road..
