L50/52 + 20R = Bad News so far!
I went and put my 20R into my truck and bolted it up to either a L50 or 52 with a new clutch and everything all shiny and new. Turned the key and the starter just went CLUNK. The flywheel or something attatched to it was hitting something in the bellhousing. I checked and there were no bolts or wrenches left in there and I've narrowed it down to my clutch arm/release bearing/throwout hub. I dunno if the L43 that I removed the Arm and Hub from have different clearances than the L50/52 series tranny but the clutch pressure plate was hitting the arm and there was NO FREEPLAY on the arm whatsoever with the tranny and motor bolted together. I have the arm out of the L50/52 and I will replace the L43 arm in there, but I haven't got the damned hub... will this work?

Have your tried turning the motor over with a wrench on the front pulley (harmonic balancer) to verify its not the starter at fault?

Beelaay. Is that a rock climbing reference?
Clutch fork wont move? like at all? Youd think the trans would be very difficult to mount up if theres that much binding going on.
