ah, guys. have faith...its a toyota. Itl clean up just nice with a black undercoat on the frame and springs, loosing the blocks and bl, some rust eradication, rebuilding the engine, new interior, and we have ourselves a fun truck!

As for what we paid.....$800 cough cough! really we've been paying him off in payments. We gave him $225 and he handed us the keys and said come get it and then we've been givin him acouple hundred every 2weeks but he's hard to get ahold of and he owes us a rebuild kit, the bill of sale, and the title but we haven't seen any of it. We owe $275, i believe, and i've considered just not finish paying him but that would be wrong and i aint that kinda guy.
Not all that bad I guess, The axles are there, most of the motor is there, tires/rims seem good.. all the essentials are there. You better hope he has the title and registration though because that can be an ass pain to get if its missing.

that is one heck of an under taking on a small budget...looks really butchered, my 79 was pretty bad when i first got it, its a never ending project......
my vote would be to beat it into the ground (for the second time by the looks of things) , then make a buggy

ok, i've had a though. with the axles we are suppose to be buying with with 5.71 gear ratio, we need 38 to equal it all out. i dont see that 4banger pullin those tires very well at all even with those low gears. i also dont see the toyota axles handling 38s very well even with upgrades parts. i have a 14bolt doing nothing. i'm considering that for our rear to copensate for our pueny little axles and finding a 3/4ton d44 front. that way 38s wouldnt be a prob for our axles. but now the motor, i can get a 350 cheap but needs head work but than that would bring about having to change alot more stuff and spending alot of money we dont have. so basically wat i need to kno is can upgrades toyota axles and 20r handle 38s????

30 Spline Longfileds can handle 38's easily. The are probably more then a dana 44 though. Personally I would go with the Longs.

dont underestimate the little 20R

1st, Low you can go anywhere with any tire

38s are a bit for the 90 horse 20R, if ur goin with fullsize axles and 38s, go with a bigger motor like the 350

flame on yota purists!

Don't look like i'll be keeping much longer. just gonna get it running and painted and put it up for sale. it's in alabama if anybody would be interested in buying it later. not sure of a price yet.

I have a chevy 350 in my 4 runner and it cost a lot more then you think.
I'd fix that truck up and run some 33's on it and just have a good time with it

yea i thought i was having to sale it because the boy that bought the truck with me is having a boy but it's all good now. to update the truck i've gotten a new gas tank for it, and having carb rebuilt right now, trying to trade or sale tires for skinnier tires.

as far as the red "x's" earlier in the thread, usually happens when someone has deleted an image from the place they had uploaded them too, like their photobucket.com account
