California Desmog and Weber Help

My buddy just got an 82 2wd with California emissions. We're planning on taking it out to Yellowstone this summer and we want to get rid of all the goofy vacuum business and install a Weber. Does anyone have any experience with the desmog process on a California truck? How to the air pump, etc..... and if it matters to have California emissions for a Weber. Any help would be appreciated!

Simply remove it all and block off things that need to be blocked off, then install the Weber with an adapter kit. The air pump could just have the belt removed and be left on, I guess, but I pulled mine off. A Weber will run best with no emissions stuff except the cat. I don't think it really affects the carb.
