82 clean up/ build/ paint

I started off buying this truck before my deployment to Afghanistan had it three weeks then had to leave i had no time to make it mine. However now i am home and have great resources to get this thing going.

As you can see this truck was rattle canned and the undercoat wasn't something to brag about.

starting on under the hood

going back together with it and the fender wells

interior stripped and reundercoated

framed cleand up

now that we are caught up todays projects are to paint the parts orange so that i can completly reassemble the motor and accessories and make it run again. all so i can pull the front axle clean it up and install highsteer

That interior is very nice, and it looks like the body will be soon, too! Nice work.

as far as i know it is an original radio/ cassette player and it does work. Thought about putting in a cd player but i think i am going to leave it all original and keep it looking clean. Only gauge that does not work is the temp gauge in the dash i need to play with it more and try to get it to work until then i have a external down by the shifter.

so today we spray most of the under the hood parts still need to do valve cover p/s cooler, and fan shroud.

Then i put them back in under the hood and started hooking other hoses and misc things up. Still will be a little bit before things are all back together under there and ready to go but have a good jump on it so far.

then i had some time left over so i finished out my radiator support flat black in front and undercoated with 08881 on back side

also started stripping the doors so we will have something else to fix while paint dries or we are redoing the dash and cleaning it up.

well i have to work night through the weekend so progress willl be a little slower only in father in laws spare time fora few days. hope to have trim out done on doors and roof primed soon. then on to cowl. after that who knows doors/fenders/hood/dash.....then i will be finding a bench to put in it for the little man and wife to be able to ride with me.

if anyone has suggestions or ideas.. throw them at me i will consider any ideas...

I'm anxious to see what it'll look like when you're done. It's obvious you are doing things right.
BTW, that orange looks awesome

This is mini truck status. I would expect to see this on a bagged truck but this is different. Subscribed.

you don't have to bag a truck to make it look nice i am working on more pictures of thing did some roof work and the other door frame should be in primer as soon as the cowl area is ready. Long last 10 days workin 3 off one then on 4 so i will try to update as i get little by little done hopefully next week will bring more progress mon-fri ...also any suggestions with fenders should i cut and roll the orignal 82 fenders or will like a set of 85's fit just need to get them higher for tire clearance. thanks for all the comments. wasn't sure if i should have went ahead with this project but i wanted one when iwas 15 so i figured why the hell not
