Sold! 89 Toyota Pickup DLX 4X4 - So NV

Just a feeler to see who might be interested in my Toyota and what they’d be willing to pay for it. It’s a 1989 Toyota Deluxe Pickup 4X4 Extra Cab, 22REC (CA emissions), 5 speed manual, 6’ bed with topper and bed liner. I bought this truck in ’10 to fix it up and use it to explore the desert. To make sure it is reliable, I’ve put a lot of new parts in it. Our interests have changed and we just don’t use it much anymore, so I’d like to pass it on to someone who can appreciate it. The truck has 220k on the clock but has lots of new parts. The PO (first and only owner) replaced the short block and radiator at 204k. I put a new head on at 209k due to a stripped plug hole. The timing chain, metal guides, tensioner, and front cover were also replaced at that time. I also installed a Powertrax lunchbox locker in the rear, and the pinion bearings and seal were replaced at that time.

The truck runs great and recently passed NV smog. The A/C blows cold but might need a top-off (I have a can of R12). The body is solid with no rust except a half dollar sized spot on the hood where the windshield washer nozzle sits, but it’s just surface rust. It does have a few small dings and does need paint. Interior is in fair to good shape, no tears, one small cigarette burn on the seat from the PO. Dash pad is toast. The only issue I’m aware of is I always put the truck in neutral at stop lights (save wear on the throwout bearing). Every once in a while (maybe 1 in 10) it will give me trouble going into 1st gear. If I put it in another gear then back into 1st, it’ll go. I haven’t gotten to troubleshooting the issue yet. To me it seems more like a clutch issue than a tranny issue. The transmission shifts fine otherwise and doesn’t make any noise. It had a new clutch put in when the PO had the short block installed, but I don’t know what kind or what all was replaced. Being honest here.

I probably have over $7,000 in the truck total (not including blood, sweat, and tears) and I know I'll never recover that. But I'd like to get +/- $2,750. Negotiable...

Other new parts include:
Fuel tank and Denso fuel pump
Toyota fuel filter
Reman injectors (matched) from injector warehouse dot com
Distributor pickup coil, cap, rotor, wires, and plugs
Igniter
Mass air flow sensor
Knock Sensor
Denso clutch master and slave cylinder
Toyota water pump
Reverse light and brake light switches
Muffler and tail pipe
Lower ball joints & alignment
Front brake pads (bearings repacked)
Rear brakes shoes, wheel cylinders, and backing plates
Rear wheel bearings, and inner and outer seals
KYB Monomax shocks front and rear
Trail gear Rock Defense rear bumper
Battery and both battery cables
Front and rear diff, and transfer case fluid (GL5)
Transmission fluid (GL4)

Also have a spare ECM and 2 extra spare tires (not including the one on the truck)
