I don't think it's made for the 3.0.

i got a filter today and *tried* to install it, but it is hard as heck to get in. i've been reading that all of yall that have them say they are a tight fit...but this is crazy. once i push the filter down, it takes a LOT of pushing to make it tilt back into place. and if i ever get it 'in place' i can't get the lid closed for the life of me. i almost think that its not shaped correctly at the rounded corners, but i dont know. were there any other tricks yall had to do to get this thing in and close the lid???

Ya just gotta work with it, I thought I wasn't gonna be able to get it, try pushing down on the filter lid and then manually putting the latches in place...its definitely a tight fit but thats a good thing...it'll get there, just gotta be patient.

You really don't force the filter into place, it has to fit down in the slots just right, then it's easy, but the tight fit is a good thing......

bruce, i tried mounting this by flipping the filter end over end (but still keeping wire mesh side towards the intake tube), but its still a TIGHT fit. like 4x4fink, i have to manually lift the clips up to close the lid. i mean, tight is good, but this is ridiculous! i'll probably give it a shave in a few places to see if it works out.

I recently picked up another one, so I can clean one and set it aside, when I went to install the new one it wouldn't fit. After close inspection I noticed it wasn't moulded properly, so I took my disc grinder and shaved a few places down, finally got it to set in place, but the lid woudn't close right. I then shaved down the frame where the lid was hitting and it now closes properly. My other filter is sitting inside my garage, I need to take some pictures of it before cleaning, this thing is packed full of dirt and none made it to the other side, for those of you that saw how dirty it was in Death Valley know what I'm talking about.

I mean no dissrespect Jason, but to those canadians out there, I ordered my true flow air filter from canadian tire without any shipping charges. The filter was tight fit, but it works excellent.

It's all good, hey, you don't have to pay any duties that way since you are in canada and so are they.

one last shot.... I wish I had weighed the filter, you could feel the difference, compared to a new one. The TrueFlow rep took the filter back with him and gave me a new on.......

Is this your filter or someone else's? Why did you get a new one? Does the TruFlow not perform as advertised?

To clean the True Flow, link you need to wash it out with dish soap and dry it. Then get some airfilter oil from by true flow, I can get you this sa well, just PM.

Sqeeze in about 2 oz. of oil into the filter and stick it in a zip lock bag. Then knead it to evenly distribute the oil throug the filter. Next, take it out and sandwich it between a bunch of paper towels and step on it to get the excess oil out of the filter. All done.

That was my filter that I ran a test to see just how long I could go before performance loss, but after 8 months, I just couldn't wait any longer. I had purchased a spare one, so there wouldn't be any down time while I cleaned the old filter. At Northride Toyota's car show, TrueFlow had a booth set-up, my filter was on display showing how well it prevented dirt from passing through. The Rep then wanted to take it back to the factory and offered to give me a new replacement one. The filter exceeded all expectations.......

Does the foam come out of the caseing, or do you have to wash it in the casing. I have only washed dirt bike air filters. You can pull them out, wash them, squeeze them into a ball to get all the water out and then oil them again. Are these the same, or do the instructions come in the kit?
