I would like to do to same basic project but not done with 4x4 yet good work post E.T.s when you get some. |

2wd board specific .. http://toyota2wd.proboards2.com/index.cgi |
Hells yeah dude!!!!!
|
i hope your putting a 350 in it and like slamming it or somthing. Because weight and pre running dont mix.
|
I have a 7M-GTE going in , as well as full custom frame , including supra front IFS , and REAR IRS ..
http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/IM001576.JPG |
Wow!! You got quite a ride there Corey! Hope you weight down that rear end (PUT SOME JUNK IN YER TRUNK) to keep the tires hooked up and not get loose on you!
Are you going to be running twin's on it? NOS? I think you should donate that there engine to my 4 Runner project!! ;) :D John |
no twins .. just single .. 350 ~ 400 should be enough ..
it's a big project , and have a couple of years into it already .. and a few more to go as well :) |
NEW custom frame is comming along ..
SUPERTOY is almost a roller :) http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/supertoy.jpg http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/supertoy%201.jpg  |
Awesome! I want to do the same thing but with an older truck like a 77 or something(First gen 4x4 body style).
|
2wd

ive owned three of them 87-88's have great lines. try to get a smooth side bed from a 4wd. |
not a chance ..
I'm going with a totally CUSTOM look .. not a bagger http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/IM001120.JPG is the bed , and matching fronts .. http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/IM001597.JPG rear street slicks about 2' wide .. wide fronts .. you aint seen notin' yet . |

still in the "what if" file. i want to custom my runner but i'm not sure which direction. if i did i'd use a lt1 with a 383 strocker kit and decked heads. 750 cfm demon carb with nitrous plate. 4o8ole with clocked awd trasnfer case from a typhoon. lsd in front and rear . typhoon case allows for a 70/30 power split to the rear. lower the suspension about three inches or so. it's just one option. other would be a 6.6 duramax and dana 60's front and rear
|
sounds cool .
|
hey Corey:
First time I checked out your super truck build, I like it...doubt my wife will let me have two at once though...have fun with it.. |
Tks Robb .. I'm excited to finally get a rolling chassis .. it's been a long term project .
|
today , I dropped off my mock up engine , and tranny . we dropped it onto the frame , so Saul could build the tranny cross member . after this is done , it comes back to me to finish ... yippie , I almost have a roller ..
http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0196.JPG http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0199.JPG |
so the mock up has begun .. ;D
reinstalled the cradles .. front and rear , and the struts .. http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0217.JPG http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0220.JPG some pics of the TIG welds .. http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0218.JPG http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0219.JPG so anyway .. I also dropped the cab on .. I still have to build all the mounts , but it'll give you an idea . http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0223.JPG http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0225.JPG |

I dont know if anyone has seen this truck before, but its nice. Here is a picture of it if you dont click the link. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i2...4/B4Brakes.jpg Eh sorry i just realized it was 85 pickups, but this one is 2wd and its going to be pushing some horsepower, sorry again didnt realize this wasnt about all 2wd toyota pickups. |
dang .. thats cool .
same engine color , but i'm going to change mine to a candy red .. DIMENTIA DISORDER . |
so dropped in the "mock up" engine , and tranny .
as suspected .. I have to cut the firewall . this is all going to work out great .. now with cutting the firewall , I have to move the pedals , and with that the seats .. which actually works out excellent .. the tranny shifter is now *exactly where it should be .. nice , I'm stoked . http://www.members.shaw.ca/slacker502/HPIM0226.JPG also added the exhaust manifold , and turbo .. to see how much modification on the down pipe i would have to do .. just SICK .. I dont think I have to do any .. it fits the crossmember , and "new" firewall excellent .. |
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/HPIM0266.jpg
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/HPIM0265.jpg time to build the firewall |
so now with the steering removed .. again .. I have now started on the firewall . first thing to do is remove all the stock mounts .
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/HPIM0267.jpg that done , in order to keep it somewhat "street legle" I need to have wipers .. so I'm working on the passenger corner , trying to get the wiper motor into the cowl , and hidden from the engine bay ... |
Very nice! Looking forward to seeing this one come together.
|
little bit more today ...
made mount plate for the wiper motor .. so it will now be hidden inside the cowl .. I still need to cut the opening in the top of the cowl plate for access and mounting/removal , but pretty much done . http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...HPIM0278-1.jpg cutting some steel from a template http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/HPIM0280.jpg Tacking it into place http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/HPIM0281.jpg and finally finished filling , filing , sanding , grinding .. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/HPIM0283.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/HPIM0282.jpg |

As a pure blood 4wd kid, I can appreciate the work going into this truck. I'm stoked for the motor. Are you going to have any revealing badging or crazy exhaust? I think a sleeper would be awesome.
|
no .. no sleeper here ... she's full out custom .
I have 3" pipes and a custom down pipe off the turbo. :) i'm also going to put the supra "TURBO" badge on somewhere .. just not sure where yet . |
Nice. On an episode of Trucks!, Stacie put an electronic thingy on the pipes that let him go from open header to legal muffled with the flip of a switch. That'd be fun to have.
|
they called .. looks like Stacy is doing a build up of a toy on his new show ..
they are interested in using some of my pieces I build at my shop http://www.toyotafiberglass.com .. were just "hammering" out the details ... we'll see .. . |
That'd be awesome if you got your stuff on there. Better finish the truck before they want to film...
|
hehehe. thats intense man. i like it. 2wds rock. i personally woulda loved the sleeper look for it, but the full custom should be awesome too. good luck with that.
|
Call me a moron, but does the term "sleeper" mean making it look stock & slow and then opening up a can of whoop ass?

so now with the mock up engine in it's place , and before I start on the firewall .. I have to locate the brake booster , so I can locate the pedals .
putting the brake booster in its place , will locate the pedals . http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0287.jpg so now I need to make a bracket to hold them in place . http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0285.jpg so now with the pedals and bracket bolted to the bracket bracket welded to the cowl .. I can start on the firewall http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0289.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0288.jpg with the steering back in position http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0290.jpg and just how I'm going to fit :) http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0292.jpg |
so test fitting the dash .. going to do a complete fiberglass dash , so i'm getting a good look at what it's going to be like .. needs to fit the supra speedo .. I think it'll work .
my nephew loves his uncles shop , and the work .. and is already dreaming of the day he can come take over :) http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0306.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0305.jpg http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...d/HPIM0304.jpg . |
