thanks guys ...
Brad came in today and helped me out , we got the cab into it final and proper location . (I had to move it back 2" ). This will be way better for the firewall now as well . and now I super happy with the mock up location of the front fenders and rear fenders . |
i love your builds... wish i had enough cash or aftermarket support for the t100's...

got some work done on the weekend ...
doors off , and going to put the power windows in the Mojave build truck . got the tranny in place and cut the drv shaft flanges so I could "mock" up a drive shaft , also reinstalled the steering column , and got the steering shaft buttoned up . pics on the new phone , will get them up ASAP . |
so some pics ...
trany in and drve shaft mock up http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...psd979a33a.jpg some new wheels :) ... and doors off http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...ps4dafde1b.jpg steering installed http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...ps6af6bf22.jpg I'm now doing some tube work ... I'm starting with bracing the shock towers and a mount for the intercooler so will post that up when I get some progress done . |
have been working on this a bit here and there , and I'm trying to figure out the brake booster and m/c placement ... because of the front suspension , I need to relocate the booster , so I'm looking at installing it underneath on the frame ..
also , got my brackets built to make the intercooler mount "boltable" the tube will go over the engine bracing the shock towers . |
I wish I could be a fly on the wall just to watch what you do. You do some great work and wished I had your skills. Great work and always like seeing what you do.

3 Attachment(s)
so a little time this weekend to get a little done ...
I'm bracing the front shock towers and building the front "tube" section , so I needed to get my real engine in , which I still need to add some things to , so I can make sure all my clearances will work so out of it covered shrink wrapped casing it comes Attachment 124063 and into place I have also started on the brackets for the supports Attachment 124064 Attachment 124065 . |
2 Attachment(s)
so , with the tranny out again , I needed to make a modification for the speedo cable . plasma cut out the section that was interfering , and used a piece of 2" tube to fit .. should work
Attachment 124028 Attachment 124029 . |
I know you've got a lot of work yet to do, but the way that tranny mount section is notched out it looks like it could be a weak point. I can't tell how thick that steel is or if there is any support that I'm not seeing but I though I'd throw it out there just in case - I know you would do the same for me (have done so before).
I'm sure you have a master plan in your head about how all this is going to work out, but we aren't mind readers here - if we were then our trucks would all look a whole lot better! LOL By the way, that's a nice fancy engine you have there. I call dibs on the first ride!! |
thanks buddy , as always , I appreciate ANY and ALL input .
This mount is WAY over build , and I plan on cutting even more out , so stay tuned . The actual weigh is the only thing the mount has to support , and as it is a 2WD , I don't need any "rock" protection .... so I'm thinkin' it good . |
I'm sure you have heard about the 7mgte gasket failures, and you might have also heard about the cause, there was a mistake in the torque specs of the head bolts from the factory, and there is a technical service bulletin about this with the proper torque specs. How do you like the idea of building a front facing intake plenum or complete manifold?

with the way it sits now , with the mods I have done and have yet to install , It should dyno just under 400 HP .. I'm gonna leave things on engine just the way I have planned for now ... my thoughts for upgrades--- to go to a T04e turbo AFTER engine has been broken in .. hope to net out @ ~ 600HP . |
*cough* 2JZ *cough* :hillbill:
jk man, going to be a badass engine youve got there. |
:) ... I had some one else "suggest" on an other one of my build threads , that I should have gone with another engine choice ... possibly I made the wrong choice ...
I guess only time will tell ... keep watching , you'll see why THIS is the perfect engine for this build ! . |
got my intercooler support mocked up , and almost ready to weld
:) . |
still not welded as my weekend is over ... but heres where the "cage" is starting
as previously mentioned .. supports made and now tacked into place https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...68dbc9f737.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...dff7ed4cb1.jpg and then bent the support struts .... https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.yot...3999c58cc5.jpg not welded yet .. so just a rough mock up . |
Ohhhhh Mmmmyyy Gaaaawwwwddd! This is awesome! I had an 87' pick that I would have LOVED to do this too... soo cool. I obviously don't have the skill or abilities that you have.
|
thanks ...
still haven picked up my tube .. still sitting @ the store , all paid and everything . seems it has turned into a coat hanger again :( . |
This still sitting in the shop, slacker?
|
yep .. it's in my shop .. I have been doing a little here and a little there , but I mostly have been focusing on the Mojave Tribute .
as soon as that is done , I am committed to finish this truck . |
sounds just like when you were building your trekker. :P
all jokes aside, you do fantastic work, and i cant wait to order from you next year! |
thanks ..
and just to let you know .. My shop is so busy , I have stopped taking orders for 1 YEAR I have way 2 much work , and the sad thing is , I have a lot of NEW products I want to build and some that are already in progress , that I just cant do .... I'm hoping to catch up a bit , before I start accepting deposits again ... . |
no worries! i have to wait till tax return time next year anyways.
