I am getting ready to take the plunge to 315's for wheelin'. Also, a buddy of mine just went to 315's on his '04 Taco.

I bought a Derale

I haven't installed it yet.

What do you have?

Well, I'll buy one of those with my transmission cooler. Let me know how it turns out.

I'll be installing both before the end of the month, thats for sure.

Although I don't have a 3rd gen, I did this mod awhile back using the same item from the same place too! Installation wasn't that bad except for finding the right sized tubing that fed to the power steering resevoir. I did mine just more of peace of mind since I went up to 35's as well.

Good luck!

I added one, about the same time Lance did, but now I wish I had went one size larger. I fried a PS pump last year on a Nevada run, overheated it and boiled out all the fluid. Mud runs aren't fun.........

seems like there is alot of interest for tranny/power steering cooling systems.. someone needs to fab a high quality kit, and setup a group buy!

out of curiosity where do you plan to mount the cooling core?

There is enough room to mount a Hayden 678 transmission cooler in front of the radiator. If this power steering pump is small enough, you could probably mount it next to the tranny cooler.

I was just thinking about it, but, even the return like for the PS is a hardline. Are you guys going to cut it and run a rubber hose? Or what?

I have the same type Jim has.... The hard line is the high pressure output, you attach to the return line at the pump, which is a rubber hose, very simple install.

Hmmmph. I could have sworn it is a hardline. Oh, it goes to rubber towards the pump eh. Okay.

Yeah, you guys make sure you DO NOT cut that pressure line... oh my god, I did that once when I got happy with a sawzall and it was not a fun experience.

Yes, there was a 200ft cliff nearby and I was about to jump off.

The front of the radiator.
