I just wanted to know how to find out what size pistons I have in my truck. I'm just replacing the rings, so I would like to know if the pistons are standard size or what. Thanks in avance!

Yes.. it's totally apart right now.. just waiting to buy piston rings, just dont' know what size

Uh.....unless youve done something to the engine with bigger pistons, you should just be able to go to a parts store and get the rings for your particular engine...shouldnt you? If you want, take some calipers and check the exact Diameter of your pistons in the ring grooves....maybe that could help.
Well that's what I'm trying to figure out.. I'm not sure if the PO did a rebuild.. the truck has 180k on the clock. Does anyone know the stock piston dimensions?

How is anyone supposed to know that when you don't tell us what engine, year and vehicle.
Sorry, it's a 1985 22RE (there really should be a spot near your location where you can put your basic vehicle info)

Just to confuse you some more the FSM shows 3 different piston sizes, marked 1, 2 and 3. The diameters are
Size 1.... 3.6211-3.6214" (91.975-91.985 mm)
Size 2.... 3.6214-3.6218" (91.985-91.995 mm)
Size 3.... 3.6218-3.6222" (91.995-92.005 mm)
The bores should also be marked 1, 2 or 3, to match the pistons.

just remember, even toyota makes oversized pistons.
99.9999% of the time, the oversize will be stamped on the top of the piston.

Anyway, I'm home now, and I couldn't find a ruler yet.. but the piston has Aisin stamped on it with the number 35030.. sound stock to anyone? I'll be searching google to see if I can find something.. thanks again guys..

Ok, nothing stamped on top of them... and doing some research, Toyota owns like 23 percent of Aisin.. so I'm guessing it's an acutal Toyota part... I believe I have enough info to buy standard size rings! thanks guys
