i took the motor out of a 1988 toyota pickup 4x4 ex cab and put it into my 1994 toyota pickup ex cab 4x4. we used the wirering from my 1994 so we had to mod some stuff, like the injectors i didnt want to swap them so i just shaved alittle off the conector with a razor blade they fit right on now. destributor we dicided to cut off the conector on the wirering harness and put the 1988 conector on wires were the same color. the coil wire needed to have the end swapd to then not a big deal, did that. ok so the motor ran b4 we swaped. then we got it to start, it ran rough we adjusted the timing alittle it was better, but still not right so i put new plugs in it, took it for a test drive thinking it just needed to run it had been sitting for a year or 2. got about a mile died. turned over but wouldnt start. figured it had to be fuel so replaced the filter...its getting gas and spark now starts for a sec or 2 and dies....any ideas?? thank you

If you don't have any air going through the VAFM or MAF, whichever you have, the truck won't run at all. found that out with a lot of my friends in the truck, wheelin a bit, and it popped off. at the block. put it back on and presto.
