Ok I have searched and searched and cannot find a definitive answer.

I have a new TG High Pinion diff in and the drivers side axle and birfield.

My problem is the passenger side seems that if the axle is going to sit in the diff, that the birfield is low and wont clear the knuckle ball. I pulled these out just to put in a new diff.

Nothing is bent. Should I separate the birf and axle shaft and put them in separate?

UPDATE
I can get the axle further in but the axle shaft wants to point downward just enough to keep me from going into the splines on the diff. The birfield is almost past the ball and is able to wiggle when the spline is almost into the differential. I am not sure how i'm going to get it to point upward enough to get in there.

Only thing I can think of is taking the birfield off the shaft and putting the shaft all the way in first. Then connect the birfield.

Is that possible?

Well! My axle housing is bent! Passenger side is bent back a couple of degrees. Separated the birfield fromt he shaft and put the shaft in... Shaft is crooked as all hell! POinted forward of the seal as the housing of the axle is pointed back! FML!

Do you know why the housing got bent? Off road use or was it from welding trusses onto it?

From an accident. I didn't think it was bent though as I had used it since and not had problems. When I tore down the axle this weekend I had a buddy doing the opposite side as I did the drive side. This prevented me from knowing that the axle was pushed forward in the housing and the axle would not seat properly in the seal. Didn't notice it was bent until I separated the birfield from the axle shaft and put the axle in. Saw the gap and said a few (ok a LOT) of bad words!

I contacted Tucson Differential. They are the only place I know of that straightens axles to 100% true. They are an hour and half from me so I will taking them my axle in the near future. Only acception would be that I have a truss and a gusset kit around the knuckle ball. They might not be ableto unless I cut everything off. MAYBE. Will know tomorrow.
