New member and new owner of a 1981 toyota trekker. Runs solid, looking at doing some cosmetic touch ups.. I would like to replace front doors (rust) will any from the same era of toyotas fit? Are there any good spots to search for parts for this thing? Mahalo

79-83 doors will work, doesn't matter if from 2WD or 4WD.

Thanks, if 79-83 doors will fit, can I assume the same for all engine parts when I fix or replace them?

yep doors are the same except for vent or no vent , but they will interchange . 79-80 had a 20R engine 81-83 had 22r ... some pieces up to /84 will interchange (like the hi-brid engine) even things like the 20R dual row chain from the 79-80's .

we - http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/trekker_13.html support the Trekkers and build lots and have lots of parts for sale . We have FRP door skins avaliable , which might be your best option in the "salt" cliamate you live in. There also is a trekker fourm here .. lots of cool info. for you to look over http://toyotatrekker.proboards.com/

they will interchange for the most part. There are some plug changes (IE: in the wiring harness) 79-81 are one style and 82-83 another style--round vs. rectangular. You can get around that by cutting and splicings.

Thinks to look for on trekkers-
Winnebago did a poor job when they designed the seal between the cab and the canopy, water gets trapped there and can cause extensive rust. ALso the floor tends to get rusted out around the 4 cab corners...since you are on the islands you have probably already found some.

Door glass can be swapped door to door, just be sure to get all components such as the regulators as they are specific to full glass and vented door.
