Well I just got a new CD player so I'm back in the sound craze. I don't like anything bone shattering, but a little bump is always nice.
Right now all I have is a 200 Watt Amp pushing a JL Audio W0 Sub. I was wondering if buying a JL Audio W6 (link) to replace the W0 would make it significantly louder? I'm still going to push it with the 200 Watt Amp. Will this just be a waste of time and money, or will I notice a louder bump in the trunk?
Edit: I'm talking about a 10" sub.

It would be better to upgrade amp and sub at the same time. 200w isnt enough for me.

how many ohms is the amp running at pushing out 200 watts is this max or rms? the 10w6 has a couple different setups with the ohm ratings you can run it 12 or 3 ohms depending on how it it wired. so it is possible the amp you have now may run it because the w0 is 4 or 8 ohm.

Here's what I have and I love it! I run this subwoofer and the stock 6 speaker system with a Sony Xplod 880W 5-way amp w/built in x-over. Amazing what the stock speakers can do when getting only the frequencies they capable of handling.

Your not likely to get any more volume out of the higher end sub unless you upgrade the power you put into it; that is, ether reducing the ohm load or getting a bigger amp. If you got a 12" w0 sub, that would defenetly be louder at the same power. I used to own wo subs. they are very eficent. You can get good volume out of low power.
