Got some of these for the increased spring rate and stock height. Noticed they’re slightly shorter than the stock ones. This is a little bit of a problem since my rear end has more travel than stock. I have longer shocks so now at full droop the springs dangle about an inch or two. If I were to flex I think it’d allow the spring to fall out completely. Anyone else have this problem? The ride is waaaaay better now and will hold me over till I cage it and put coil overs through the bed so I’m not super worried. Maybe make some coil holders like ford rangers have on their I beam trucks? Any ideas?

Hey @horunner1x did you find a solution to this problem? I’ve heard the coil spacers are a common solution to this, and they’re cheap on Amazon. I’m looking to replace my coils as well and wondering if I need the spacers. All signs are pointing toward yes at this point.

honestly I just ran em how they are and have been fine. Originally Posted by ATX4Runner

Do you have any photos? I’m curious how it sits with the moogs and no spacers. Does it look level, or does the rear sit lower than the front?

The moog rear coils do indeed have a shorter freelength. When I realized that I went with the 1.5" tall Daystar urethane spacers and kept my stock 1991 coils. I am also running some M95 SkyJacker Shocks that are about 9 inches for travel. So the Panhard rod needs to be corrected as the next project but for $40 dollars the spacer is a great cheap way to restore your ride height. The stock coils with the spacers do not fall out even with the longer shocks and the ride is great as the 1991 spring rate is softer than the 1990.
Once I get my BlazeLand installed I am looking at some 19" free length dual rate coils with 101 and 220 rated coil groups that are supplied by MetalTec4X4 for a Lexus SUV. The lower rate group of coils stop the spring from falling out when you increase wheel travel and greatly extend the droop distance.
As for my present set up with BJ spacers and the Daystar's my current signature image shows the wheel to fender distance fairly well.
