A little late but Sherco has M8000 Winches on ebay for $469.00. There are lots auctions going on at one time so there are never any competing bidders. It comes out to be $516 shipped and they have the M8000 auctions up constantly.
M8000's on Ebay
One more thing... Crating fee? Don't all the Warn Winches leave the factory in a heavy shippable cardbord box?

I checked Ebay before I got this one. First point is they don't offer a life time warranty ($50), and they didn't include the hawse fair lead either. and I got another strap and some hooks too, which I can sell for at least $30.
That is my biggest fear right now. That tomorrow someone is going to post a link to where I can get this for $300. That would suck. I wasn't in the market for a winch, but it seemed like a damn good deal, so I got one. Like I said impulse buys are a beyatch.
Edit: I don't know what the crating fee is, but the total cost was $529

Good question. I wouldn't be surprised if Sherco could even spell warranty, but Im almost positive there's a limited warranty from Warn.
There is a warranty from Warn that covers normal wear and tear. The "extreme lifetime WARN-T" covers everything, no matter what you do to it.

Newb question on winches. How good is the M8000? I haven't looked into winches all that much, and don't know a whole lot about them.

This is the winch everyone seems to be running. I got it b/c I know it will fit under the bumper without a hitch (fingers crossed). Its a warn winch so you know its quality. There is a forever ending debate wether its better then mile marker or some of the other brands. The only advantage mile marker had was that it was a lot cheaper then warn. But with the deal that they were offering, price was no longer a factor. Plus with the life time warranty, "no matter what" .. it seemed like a no brainer.Originally Posted by 89-4run

Mike -- My rig isn't going to look all that different. I only had three projects scheduled for this year, and the winch wasn't one of them (supercharger, lockers/gears, rear bumper). After my exam I should be getting the lockers, and that supercharger/URD kit put in. So everything is "under the hood"
But yeah definitely we'll meet up at EC4RJ. I'm probably going to come up there and have Tom throw in my lockers and gears, so maybe even a run at badlands in May.Registered User
