debating whether to get a 2.7l and supercharge it they say it gets around 4mpg more and doubles its hp

would this be something to consider on a stock tacoma as a dd? pros and cons?

First off if you have the 4 banger don't even consider a supercharger, it is a waste of time and money. Go right for the turbo kit, there are several to choose from and they will give you MUCH better results.

Secondly, yes it is worth turboing the engine.

URD

i used the search function before posting and found multiple forums based off of what results showed

im just throwing out ideas i would be using for commuting but im unsure as to how well a 2.7 with turbo will act if even worth the hassle and money plus on a 2wd i assume it will pull a good amount harder than the 4x4??

URD really doesn't apply to what you are talking about. They provide some mods but they mostly deal with the 5vz.

These motors take very well to boost. Run great and are reliable if treated well. 2wd also doesn't matter except that it will be harder to put the power down and the transmission is a little weaker in some cases.

In a nut shell, yes boost is worth it. Forget superchargering, go turbo or don't waste your money. Check out Customtacos.com for more info on turboing the 4banger.
