No power at the injectors for 3 & 4...

I think I found the problem. The friend who helped me out was the guy who disconnected the fuel rail harness and he broke the fuel injector plugs badly. Never mind the plastic being broken, one of them does not even have the spade connectors in it anymore.
Plug for injector #4 with spade connectors intact Attachment 130257 Plug for injector #2 missing spade connectors Attachment 130258 So my question is this. If the plug for injector #2 is not making an electrical connection, would that stop injector #4 from working? I think it would sins the probably fire in banks ha? |

I went and got new connectors from NAPA. Sadly I cant start it because I managed to brake the charger for my jump pack and the battery is dead. Its been a good day.

sehr gut!! deutschman

I got it! SHE RUNS! Feels good.
Und danke millball. Needs a valve adjustment I think. All the timing is spot on, but its got a good ticking and an exhaust leak at the header/down pipe. No coolant or big oil leaks. Runs well and at a good temperature. I also got some new NGK spark plug wires that I installed when I did the injector plugs. Things I replaced: engine mount bushings fuel filter oil pan gasket valve cover gasket and seals new NGK spark plugs NGK spark plug wires some vacuum hoses fuel injector electrical connectors oil filter The clutch looked almost new. Good to know. |
I just ordered a set of 16x8 Black Rock 942 Type D steel wheels with P235/70R16 Kumho Road Venture AT tires which will be mounted and Hunter Road Force balanced for free before showing up at my door. Thanks Tire Rack! Should be here this Thursday.
I am still waiting for my rear Bilstein struts to show up. They have been on national back order for ever. |
nice to hear it running. good work man.
|
I think you found the problem why number 2 wasn't firing. lol. Great to hear you got it running. How do you like the connector that you got from NAPA. Looks to be a great quality connector.
|
Thanks guys.
Yeah the connectors from NAPA seam like good quality parts. Nice thick rubber seals and quality plastic with clips that are easily un-clipped with one finger. Seamed just as nice as any Bosche part. |

Got my new wheels and tires a day early :)
Not so happy about the lettering. I thought the letters would be white so I had them mounted facing out. Instead they were a weird turquoise and the paint is everywhere. I am going to have to clean that up some how. Attachment 130122 Attachment 130123 Attachment 130124 |
That blue is a protective coating that will scrub right off.
|
Oh good. Iv never had a tire with that stuff on it before.
|
Often the place that mounts the tires washes the blue off for you.

Well a bit more bad luck with the truck, mixed with bad driving on my part.
I had a bit of a fender bender in traffic. No huge damage to ether truck (I hit a Chevy) besides a bent ball hitch on his end and a round dent in my lower valance and hurt pride on my part. He never reported anything to his insurance company ether. I should off had an ever bigger space in between my truck and his. I already had a good space, but it just was not enough braking distance for the truck. Would have been for my tiny BMW. Now I know. Anyways I ordered a nice tube bumper from Trail-Gear. I need to get it painted and mounted tomorrow. Should spiff things up a bit. The engine is running great. Only strange thing is it seams to be drinking coolant. I cant find any leaks. Its not bad, but I have to add a bit every 3-4 weeks. Oil is doing fine, I check it all the time now hahaha Attachment 127891 Attachment 127892 Attachment 127893 |

I did some work on the new bumper today. I like it.
Its a Trail-Gear bumper. All the welds are really nice, but the mounting hole locations are a bit off. I dont know if its my truck or their work. Some of the holes line up fine, but others are off by a lot. The two tabs that stuck off of the back and mounted to two point above where the old bumper used to be were so off I had to cut them off and weld them back on again. This got all the holes a lot closer, but I still have to take my die grinder to a few of them to get the bolts to fit through correctly. I cut the mounting locations for the turn signals out of the bumper, modified them a bit, and welded them to the bumper. I also added mounting tabs for the fog lights. I think it turned out well. These are the tabs I had to cut off and relocate. Attachment 127823 Here you can kind of see where they used to be. They moved up about 3/8" Id say. Excuse the messy welds I only had flux care around because my friend left my tank on and all the gas leaked out. Not happy about that. Attachment 127824 This was before I relocated those tabs. Attachment 127825 This was after. Definitely closer. Attachment 127826 Here are the turn indicator brackets I made out of the original bumper. Attachment 127827 Attachment 127828 And mounted. Like the bumper
|
I like bumper, I like the white camper, and I like the small tires!!
If only the wheels were black.. |
Also, that weird bluish lettering will wear away, leaving the white you wanted.
To speed the process, wash the tires with warm soap and water, pat dry, then scrub them with a brush coated in bathroom bleach! Not straight up bleach, but bathroom bleach, the stuff that comes in the spray bottle. That should do the trick.. Repeat later on for BRIGHT WHITE. |
