I should already know the answer to this, but i figured i'd ask anyway. Gonna be lifting my cousin's 4Runner 3" and I told her to get 285/75R16s to match it. she then went to get tires put on and they said her rims are too small to run these tires and it would cause premature tire damage.
Now i've seen people run 33x12.50s on stock rims and no issues.
Are these people smoking crack and just trying to sell a set of rims? or can I go by my gut feeling and just do what I know will work, which is run the 285/75R16s on the 16x7 rims?

All 5 of my 285/75R16s are on 16x7 rims. The spare rim is an OEM 5 spoke allow (all on a Tundra)
