When switching over my oil cooler from the old motor to the new motor, I noticed that one of the coolant lines was completely shut off with nasty-looking sludge. I used my air compressor to blow it all out.
Is this normal? I never thought to take a picture before I blew it all out.

Never found that when I had my oil cooler off, all that was in my lines was clean coolant. You might want to get the entire cooling system flushed, no telling where there's more of that sludge.
