Its not about whether or not you think something should be a rule, its about following the rules you agreed to when you signed up on this private forum. The filter is also in place for the work environment.
Many employers (Boeing for example) monitor every single thing their employees surf or their filters pick up on it.
Lots of employers these days allow their work force to surf during breaks or lunches.
