What GEARS & TIRES are you running?

Everyone seems to have their preferences, but what GEARS and TIRES are you running on your Toyota?

I'll start it off: '86 22r 5spd with stock 4.10's on 31 x 10.50 R-15's--yeah it's SLOW!

buckshot1224 12-07-2009 12:05 PM

'92, 3.0L, 5spd, stock 4.10's, 31x10.5x15 Gets along just fine, I can gain speed on a hill on the interstate at 70mph.

91 4WD truck, 22RE, 5spd trans, 31 BFG(actual diameter about 30") on 15x6 rims, 4.56 gears. Police radar signs say I'm going 35mph when the speedo says 32mph.

im runnin 4.10's on 31's on my '86 22r..and it aint THAT slow..i mean i can safely merge into traffic on the interstate..i've got a rebuilt motor though..EB 261C cam..header and exhaust lol..

and now that i look back..i realize that those mods did help :)

OrRunner 12-07-2009 12:53 PM

camo31_10.50 12-07-2009 12:56 PM

well it really depends on how steep the hill is...some hills i can take in 4th (can't take ANY hill in 5th...at all)..but others i gotta get up in the RPMS close to 4400 or so in 3rd gear LOL

JollyGreen 12-07-2009 12:56 PM

94 22re 5 speed 31x10.50 r15's. Its stock and it gets around just fine.
I can accelerate on the highway no problem.

88 4runner 3.4 swapped auto. 35x12.5x15 and 4.10s great on highways but a tad slow off the start

AxleIke 12-07-2009 01:29 PM

Currently running 4.88's on 35x12.5's. Just about perfect. Climbs hills fine, speedo is spot on, and cruises nicely at speed.

I got the missing front for a set of 4.56's. Trying to figure out when I will get time to put em in. Until then, I will trip over them in the garage and drool. :hillbill:

Almost forgot the best part.... $220 for both!

4.10's with 35x12.50's a 5spd and V6.

91' extra cab 4x4, 3.73's with 255/85/16's (about a 34x9.50) and an auto. Pulls great on the highway and have to watch full throttle launches when the road is wet..........
Almost forgot to mention the 3.0..........turbo diesel! :-)

Not yet. Too cold here.

They rub at full lock. Nothing a little plasma won't fix.
