Here goes.. I bought an 88 4Runner which I am absolutely in love with. Plans are to eventually put it back into perfect condition, which she isn't far from. One set of dents above the windshield, a couple small dings on the passenger side, and then the body is perfect. I just fixed my a/c, new brakes and new brake master cylinder (previous one was going out, pedal went all the way to the floor before braking). The truck has a set of aftermarket rims that have always been on it. Current tires are 31x10.5x15.. I like the ride of the 31 but am thinking about going a little thicker. Maybe a 31x12x15 mud tire.
Here are the questions. Need new lugs, 12x1.5mm sizing correct?
Paint the rims black? What you all think?
What is the best way to tell if the truck has been lifted any? I do not think it has been, but the rear is sagging badly and now that I have found a place to do new rear springs I need to know what to check to see if I need the standard Oem spring measurements or ones slightly lifted.
Here are some pics to give you guys some ideas of what I am working with.

just replying back. my opinion is 31 10.50s is a good size for a stock truck if you go any wider without a lift it will make it look like a mexican mobile! and im not sure of any brands that make a 12 usually its a 12.50 wich is even wider. if you ask me if your in the market to do it cheap procomp makes a very sterdy 2in. body lift( I dont usually promote them) its 179$ it would make the truck a little more even for 31 12.50s if you know what im saying. and about your spring problem it happens i had a 90 4 runner that did the same thing, junk yards do wonders for leaf springs. there a dime a dozen and usually they work just fine. oh and as for painting i tried it and unless you have a decent paint and your not out wheeling alot it works but they tend to flake off.

31" X 11.5" is a Good size, Hankook Dynamic M/T's come in that side and arent a bad tire, sidewalls are pretty wimpy though. I think the rims look fine how they are.
