I have been playing with these trucks since 1985 and have never ran into an issue like this. I put a new carb on the truck like I have before and then the 80 Amp fuse started blowing. The only wires that I moved was the plug when I unplugged it and plugged it back in. I was happy it started and ran though. Right off the bat I replaced the ignition switch since it was the original. I then unhooked the starter, Alternator and carb plug. Turned the key and poof there goes the fuse. Looked deeper and found a wire that was rubbing at the fuse box. Repaired it, left everything else as it was. Turned key switch and then poof went another 80 amp fuse. All the ground straps have been checked and verified for proper connections. I am at a loss. Any ideas??

UPDATE: The issue was a short within an electrical component of the new carb.

I was basicllay working on something else and saw the old carb sitting in a box. I then decided to go back to the last thing I had done before this issue cropped up. I simply put on the old carb and now it works fine except I need to do some work on the carb.
