we have two toyota's at the moment...soon to be three, but that one i think im going to build into a trail rig. We have many other vehicles that are junk to. You'd be surprised at what we find just sitting around up here, many people will give cars to you or sell them for about 100 bucks...like that 52 GMC in the background, we got it as "junk". Guy rolled it down a hill. That's it now with a 400 SB on a blazer frame.

Heres another toy, my moms at that...its kinda off topic, but oh well

I picked my fiberglass bed up from B&G fiberglass myself, I think after everything was said and done with all the options I had them add to it I was out the door for $1200.... that was a few years back so Im not sure what they sell them for now....

Quote: Although I'm unsure what the cost would be you could look for a fiberglass bed. It wouldn't ever rust.

edit: Forget what I typed. I found a site that sells them and they are upwards of 1800$ before shipping and packaging.

haha, actually, I was guessing based on the hood

that's what happens when you grow up around a gear-head father but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Damn, I'd be all over that for $350. Why can't I ever find deals like that? It just doesn't happen for me.

I finally got my parts today, got it all fixed. Had to pull the oil pan off and clean out the demolished old timing chain guides. Hope the bottom end holds together after all the coolant was in there. She seems to run good and has good oil pressure so far. Tomorrow ill get the radiator in and get then engine all the way back together, get my tires all on, and try and finish my bed.

So, i got everything together. Stole the radiator off of my turbo truck and got all my tires mounted. She runs, but she doesnt sound to healthy. She has a nice little knock to her it seems, PO must of driven her awhile with coolant in the oil. I plan on getting rod and main bearings, a new oil pump, and a new water pump for it.

Well...things aren't looking good. Pulled the motor apart and took a peek at the main bearings. This is what i found in #1

And #2

Yeah, it sucks. Didnt even pull the others, engine has to come out. It needs a crank, any ideas for a good crank anywhere? I'm depressed now

This is how she looks with the tires on her (atleast this downtime will give me time to work on the bed)...

Man that stinks. Dont get to discouraged. I have rebuilt 2 22re's so far and they are pretty simple and cheap. You wont have any problems. Plus you will be able to do what you want while you are in there. Other than that. Everything else looks great. So you do have a bed for the truck? Depending where you are located I could keep an eye out for parts/bed here in chicago. Let me know.
