Factory ac plug outlet

i have a 1988 SR5 V6. looks to be fully loaded minus the inclinometer. anyways my parents have had this thing since brand new. now they have moved on to a newer truck. i pretty much took over to make it my off road vehicle only. anyways i was cleaning it up to make it look like new again and found what looks to be a ac plug in right next to where you would pop the gas door. i hit it with a tester and shows it has power on one side and ground on the other. i grabbed a plug to see if it fits, i didnt plug it in all the way but it does fit.

anyone know what this is used for? i looked at the wires behind it and i doubt it can run anything strong.

no problem, i cut mine out. and now use the ground for something else and the power wire for a power to my extra fuse box. (it has power constantly)

I just gutted an 89 1st gen, SR5 and that was one of the items grabbed.Had to pull the front dash wire loom for the complete install of Power windows ,cruise control and others.

yea. mine had power windows from the factory and the relay went out. so i looked at the diagram to figure out where the relay put the 12volts and put 12 volts there. now they work perfectly.
